The Huzhou International Sustainable Design Summit is initiated by the Huzhou Municipal Government and is the first high-end event in the field of sustainable design based in China and facing the world. As the birthplace of the concept of "green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver", Huzhou has always been guided by the scientific judgment of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and has taken the lead in exploring the path of ecological value transformation. By 2023, the city's green industry scale will exceed 200 billion yuan, and the forest coverage rate will exceed 48%, becoming a benchmark city for national ecological civilization construction. The conference aims to drive a green future through design and create a new global ecological civilization. It deeply responds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and China's "dual carbon" strategy, aiming to build a bridge between the international design community and the green industry, promote the implementation of global sustainable design innovation achievements, and empower Huzhou to build a "world green design capital".
The conference will gather top designers, sustainability experts, policy makers, and industry leaders from multiple countries, focusing on cutting-edge topics such as green design, circular economy, and low-carbon technology. Through the release of the Global Sustainable Design Declaration, the establishment of the "Huzhou Green Sustainable Development Fund" and other initiatives, Huzhou has been deeply integrated into the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy of the "14th Five Year Plan" and built a "the Belt and Road" green industry cooperation platform. By jointly building cross-border technology transfer and exchange evaluation platforms with cities such as Kathmandu in Nepal and Dongdouchuan in South Korea, we aim to promote the export of advantageous industries such as green home furnishings and low-carbon technology in Huzhou, achieve mutual recognition of "Made in China" and "International Standards", and help Huzhou become a national green development demonstration sample and an important node for the international development of the Yangtze River Delta. In the future, the conference will continue to deepen the practice of the "two mountains theory", cultivate a global network of design talents, promote mutual recognition of green standards and synergy of industrial chains, contribute to the green program of Chinese path to modernization to the world, and make Huzhou's ecological genes become the common wealth of global sustainable development.
 
Original intention and purpose: To practice the concept of "green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver", promote the upgrading of green industries through design innovation, and build a sustainable future for a community with a shared future for mankind.
Development goal: To create a "Davos Forum" in the field of global sustainable design, attracting over 50 countries' experts, scholars, and industry experts to participate within five years, and becoming an international hub and policy indicator for green technology transformation.
